three down, three to go...

man utd won the carling cup final against totenham hotspurs yesterday through penalty shootout (4-1) after both teams tied 0-0 in the regulation time. this is the third trophy in the unimaginable quest of a complete sweep for all six titles this season (pic from getty images).

the game was balanced with both teams had few chances to win it. in the end it took a penalty shoot-out to decide. what struck me most was that we were able to emerge as winners with first team stars such as rooney, berbatov, carrick, van de sar and fletcher sitting on the bench!!!

in the bag:
- charity shield
- world club championship
- carling cup

still in contention:
- premier league
- fa cup
- champions league

the next 10 days will give a clearer idea on whether this 'dream' is achievable or not. we'll play fulham this weekend for a place in the fa cup quarter final. after that we'll face inter milan at old trafford for champions league second leg game after a 0-0 draw at san siro. if we win both games, then the chance of writing another footballing record is very very clear indeed!
