golf: first time at tasik puteri golf club

i've been waiting for my first ever golf game at a proper golf course outside kerteh for a while now. so when a group of friends from work invited me to join them play at tasik puteri, i jumped at the chance straight away! originally we planned to play at kota permai golf club, but they were organising a tournament, so we switched to tasik puteri instead.

tasik puteri golf course is located in rawang. it used to be an 18-hole course, but they added another 9 holes to make it a 27-hole course. one can choose to play on any two of the three nines, which respectively is named puteri 9 (hole 1-9), putera 9 (hole 10-18) and tasik 9 (hole 19-27). we played puteri and tasik, the latter being the toughest and longest of the three (that's what i'm being told laa). it is a big and long course, with creatively located bunkers and ponds which made it very very challenging. for beginners like me, it was almost impossible to reach most of the par-4s in two. i even had to use the driver for a par-3 (200m, uphill green).

for me their signature hole would be par-3, 22th hole at tasik course, where the green is located on an island, about 150m away from the tee. there is water right, left, front and back. twice i teed off successfully.... into the pond that is.

check out the green in the middle of the pond (pics taken from thestar.com). their review is here.

anyway, i shot a total of 110 strokes! hahaha. bila laa nak shoot under 100 nie...

this is my take on the course (out of 5-star):
club house facilities: 4-star
food and drinks: 4-star (please try their beef kueh teow and sirap kelapa... yummy!)
green and course condition: 4-star
course playability for beginner: intermediate (difficult for tasik 9).

oh, this was also the first time i played with a caddie. there were two of them caddying the four of us. both of them were able to give advice, especially on green reading, which was really helpful.

cannot wait for next golfing session...
